“Boys need positive role models for reading. Countless studies show the positive impact of male mentorship. Dads, grandpas, uncles and older brothers can have a huge impact on boys by reading with them. Through positive examples, they’ll see that being a man and being an active reader are not incompatible.”

75-year Study Reveals the Key to Men’s Health and Happiness
The Harvard study reveals what many of us have suspected for quite some time: the quality and depth of mens’ relationships is the best predictor of their fulfillment in life and long-term health.
With only a few weeks left to register for the Healthy Men and Boys Summit, this study’s findings provide new urgency as we prepare to explore:
1) How do we help boys make healthy connections throughout their lives?
2) Are we teaching boys–and men–the skills to process stress and emotions, making themselves available for deep connection to others?

How Boys Teach Each Other to Be Boys
Taking cues from family and media, young boys teach their peers how to perform masculinity, to their detriment.

MERGE for Equality
We are finally one!
In honor of over 34 years of supporting men and promoting healthy relationships, the Healthy Men and Boys Network is now MERGE for Equality.
MERGE is grounded in the legacy of Men’s Resource Center (MRC), one of the earliest men’s organizations in North America, and Men’s Resources International (MRI), an outgrowth of MRC, which conducts workshops in the U.S., Africa, Asia and Europe. For decades MRC and MRI have been on the forefront – locally, nationally and internationally – of male engagement efforts focused on both achieving gender equality and eliminating gender-based violence.
We are grateful to our friends and partners, who have stayed committed to our work and eagerly anticipated this transformation. We are especially honored that this list includes deep alliances with organizations that ensure fairness and safety for women and children.
MERGE is also pleased to announce June 15, 2015 is the date of our 3rd Annual Summit. Once again, we will come together to connect, be inspired and engage. Please register now!!
Together we will advance the beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors that allow men and boys to be their authentic selves and embrace their role in ensuring gender equality. We will do this with individuals, groups, and communities across the globe, in alliance with girls, women and all marginalized people.
Together, we are
